Each Acupuncture Session with Vanessa includes treatment with acupuncture and can include the addition of moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, tui na, and based on the individual need of each patient.

Acupuncture is the ancient practice of safely stimulating different points along the physical and energetic channels of the body with the insertion of fine sterile needles. Stimulation in this way is used to promote space for movement, release, and healing in the body.
Moxibustion is the burning of the herb mugwort to gently warm Acupuncture points to promote healing.
Cupping is a technique that uses gentle suction to promote blood circulation, move stagnation, and release tension from the muscles and fascia.
Gua Sha, or “scraping” is the technique of gently or vigorously scraping a smooth, flat, round edged tool over areas of muscular and fascial tension to effectively target areas with stagnated qi and blood and promote relaxation and healing.
Tui Na, literally translated as “pushing & pulling” is a form of ancient Chinese massage that uses gentle and vigorous techniques to move qi and blood, relax the muscles and sinews, and calm the spirit.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture combines full body treatment with tiny facial needles. Facial treatment relaxes and tones the fine muscles of the face, boosts collagen production, and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Full body needling boosts the function of the whole body and spirit for a healthy glow.

MSP covers $23 a session up to $300 per year
For Uvic students: UVSS basic plan covers $30 a session up to $200 a year for the basic plan OR 80% of each session up to $300 a year for the enhanced plan
